Beautifully restored 18" adobe in the heart of Fort Davis!
Reduced! House constructed in 1907 by J.P. Weatherby. Weatherby was the County Judge from 1895 to 1915 and a partner at Union Mercantile, currently the County Library. The house has been restored to its 1920 appearance when the house underwent renovations updating it from the turn-of-the century construction. Beadboard ceiling and hardwood floors are throughout the house with the exception of the kitchen and baths. Kitchen was added in 1926 and bathrooms were remodeled resembling those of the stylish Hotel Pasiano in Marfa. Included also are three large bedrooms, an office, and an enclosed sunroom. The sunroom has a flagstone floor and is located off the kitchen. It is a perfect morning room for breakfast or quiet reading room in the afternoon. House has a large old-fashioned front porch with swing and views of Sleeping Lion Mountian. A great place to watch the activities of Fort Davis. Shady pecan trees and yard between porch and street. Many hardwood fixtures including transoms, shutters, and a turn-of-the-century Sears and Roebuck corner fireplace - ready for modern gas log fixture. This house has plenty of antique charm and small-town atmosphere. On a 1/2 acre with old, new, large, small, fruit and nuts trees. A beautiful historical property for the discriminating buyer.
